The Prince’s Government is mobilizing to protect two Museums in Odessa, Ukraine
Museums are threatened by bombing, looting and other damage caused by war.
A financing agreement was signed last Tuesday, September 13, between Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Government Counselor-Minister of External Relations and Cooperation, and Valéry Freland, Executive Director of the ALIPH Foundation (International Alliance for the Protection of heritage in conflict areas).
The objective is to secure two Museums of the city of Odessa in Ukraine because since the beginning of the conflict, on February 24, 2022, many sites and objects of Ukrainian cultural heritage have been degraded.

Protecting the identity of the Ukrainian people
Since March, ALIPH has been providing support to museums, through the production of Ukrainian inventories, the purchase of equipment for the protection of works and the strengthening of the security of buildings and storage places.
For its part, the Prince’s Government, attentive to the preservation of world heritage within the framework of its foreign policy, wished to mobilize with the foundation in order to protect the richness and diversity of the heritage, culture and identity of the people. Ukrainian.
This is not the first time that the two entities have collaborated. In 2020, they focused together on heritage protection in northeastern Syria and Lebanon.
