The city of Flaubert, and the Normandy Seine with it, is competing to obtain the prestigious label of European Capital of Culture in 2028.

After Paris in 1989, Avignon in 2000, Lille in 2004 and Marseille in 2013, will Rouen be the next European capital of culture for France? Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, the mayor and president of the agglomeration in a dream. “Rouen got involved in this adventure very early on, in 2017. It was my predecessors who wanted to compete”, explains the one who took over the file without being asked. The dream is a bit crazy but it gradually took the chair. Until it becomes a solid project that makes the city of Flaubert a serious candidate supported by an entire territory. Indeed, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol is not the only one to dream of it. If Rouen is the flagship in this race for the prestigious European label, it has brought in its wake the cities of Normandy included…
