Tournefeuille. The first notes of the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra
On Tuesday September 13 and Wednesday September 14, the Orchester de Chambre de Toulouse (OCT) invites classical music lovers to the Escale concert “Grieg and Sibelius”, two originals of their time, the 19th century. As Romanticism was born, Germany and its composers dominated the musical world, and all musicians followed them. All except Grieg from Leipzig and Sibelius in Berlin. “Both lead us to the mysterious Nordic mists, to discover a world of sound that has managed to emancipate itself from Germanic influences”. Thus speaks the program of the Escale which receives the OCT and Gilles Colliard on the violin at its head. The concert lasts 1h30 and is aimed at all audiences. Gustav Holst and Elgar will also be played.
This is the first of a long series, one concert per month, the OCT being a partner of the City of Tournefeuille. In October there will be Marin Marais, a pure representative of the French style of the 17th century; in November, Publicity Beasts; in December Mozart; January From baroque to pop, English music; February honors Bach and Mendelssohn; March, a special participatory concert evening, you will have a great time; avril is at Tchaikovsky, one of the most famous violin concertos under the fingers of Gilles Colliard; at the end of April Jean-François Zygel we dive into the Mozart universe; Music and freedoms in May; and a trip to Baroque Europe in June. Don’t forget either the market concerts that the Orchestra also honors with its presence.
