Toulouse: they are launching their brand of mint liqueur
After six months of work, Fabien Rallot and David Léglise, two Toulouse residents, have just launched their brand of low-sugar mint liqueur, “Gueules de Crème”.
Who can boast of having gone to the end of an idea born in an alcoholic evening with friends? Fabien Rallo, manager of the Chez Xavier cellar, in Plaisance-du-Touch and David Léglise, his partner, can. Last March, the two friends sip a well-known mint liqueur, Get 27, which has its origins in Revel, near Toulouse. The glasses are linked and the taste of alcohol becomes unpleasant. They consider it “too sweet”. “We thought jokingly that it would be great to launch our own brand with a very low sugar level,” says Fabien Rallo.
A hangover and six months of research and work later, “Geules de crème” is created. “It’s a pretty funny name,” smiles the wine merchant. We wink at our lifelong passion, rugby. On mouths to do. But aside from the cliché of the brute who practices this sport, we are creams, good guys! »
Supported by one of their distiller friends in Toulouse, Fabien and David have developed a 15% alcohol liqueur made up of natural mint flavor, spring water and sugar. “We are on a successful product. It’s an alcohol that you can drink on its own, very chilled, or you can incorporate it into cocktails,” advises Fabien Rallo.
“The liquor will be available from wine merchants and restaurants”
The two designers, who want to remain discreet, have imagined a label in their image: simple. They surrounded their screen-printed faces with a rugby ball and the Occitane cross. “We wanted to highlight the Toulouse side. We are proud to represent our city. We thought of this product with one objective, that they please Toulouse residents. »
For the moment, the distribution has not yet started. It will begin after the brand’s launch party on September 17. “We signed with wine merchants and restaurants. Gueules de Crème will be available from our twenty or so partners in the coming days,” warns the former rugby player.
For the most impatient, the mint liqueur is already available in their cellar at a price of 22 euros.
