Toulouse. The football club celebrates its jubilee
This Saturday at the Vincent Serrer stadium, the Bagatelle Football Club (FCB) celebrated its 50th anniversary with a major tournament between 18 U11 category teams. A very festive day which brought together former glories of the club or high-level athletes such as the Olympic athlete Djilali Bedrani, as well as many elected officials for a symbolic inauguration. Moved, Mohamed Hamami, charismatic president of FCB for 13 years, welcomed the presence of all these guests and thanked players, parents and volunteers. Child of Reynerie, former player of the club, head of the football school, elected within the regional council, he is today a happy president of the durability of this club which holds young people well beyond the borders of Trifle. “My greatest pride is to have succeeded in mixing players from the neighborhood, the metropolis and the rural world. Sport has given me a lot and I want to give that back to young people. We are the only club from a popular district to be affiliated with a professional club, in this case the TFC, and one of our players (Ael Belangote 15 years old) has just signed a contract there”, proudly adds the president. But the FCB with its 496 members of all ages (from 5 years old to veterans), its female and senior section indoors or outdoors, is not just a football club. It is a very formative place that transmits sporting, republican and republican civic values to children. “We also carry out extra-sporting actions in the field of schooling, for example, and we ask for the children’s school reports”, he specifies. The success of this renowned club with a family atmosphere is only possible thanks to the dedication of the volunteers, work-study students, members of the office, the professionalism of the educators, and the support of numerous public and private partners. “We would like to welcome even more people but we unfortunately refuse requests because we lack land. We are in talks with the Town Hall to find other infrastructures”, indicates Mohamed Hamami.
