Portugal with 12 representatives at the FIA Motorsport Games
Young promise Rodrigo Seabra, who has been running successfully in the OK Junior category (access to Formula), is part of the lot that will be at the event that is a kind of Motorsports Olympic Games.
Driver Rodrigo Seabra, who has cards in international karting, is among the Portuguese representatives of the Motorsports Olympic Games, to be held between October 26 and 30, at the Paul Ricard circuit, in Marseille (France).
This is the second edition of the event that brings together more than 1000 athletes from more than a hundred countries, after the first took place in Rome (Italy) in 2019. In the following years, the pandemic made the initiative unfeasible.
Seabra’s election for Karting Sprint Junior comes at a time when the 1-year-old maiato is practically one season away from his debut season in OK Junior. Although a category is intended for older athletes, the Portuguese closed the German ADAC Kart Masters championship with a balance of podiums, a pole position and the fastest lap in the round, placing fourth in the overall.
In the other German title in which he participates, the DKM Deutsche Kart Meisterchaft, Rodrigo Seabra still has a race ahead of him, from 23 to 25 of, in Wakersdorf, finding himself in the fight for the fur, while the distinction of best rookie no longer flees.
Portugal participates in seven more disciplines, with Manuel Espírito Santo (Formula 4), Ricardo Sousa, Luís Marques (Rally 4), João Vieira (Drift), Guilherme Matos (Cross Car Júnior), Francisca Queirós (Karting Sprint Senior), Sofia Correia , Mariana Machado, Rita Teixeira and Anastácia Khomyn (Karting Endurance) and João Cavaca (Esports).
