Vacation without parents! (in the Netherlands and Belgium on TV)
The new program ZOOV from without parents on holiday is on TV in both the Netherlands and Belgium. Both a Flemish and a Dutch version have been made, both of which are currently available to watch. Of course we also went looking for more information about the ZOOV participants.
ZOOV (Without parents on holiday)
6 young people for a summer. For the first time in their lives they go on holiday without parents! It sounds like a dream. No whining about getting up early, going to the umpteenth church of arguing with your sister about who gets to sit in the back seat where.
First we go into further detail on ZOOV in Belgium; afterwards you will discover more about the ZOOV participants from the Netherlands. One of the girls has a famous father.
ZOOV Belgium
In Belgium, the group of ZOOV participants consists of fifteen to seventeen year olds. They determine the program for this sunny holiday themselves and they are given responsibility for the holiday wallet, the household and the activities. Parental controls, there is none. A camera crew that records everything for us – and the home front – is there.
ZOOV participants Belgium
The participants in ZOOV in Belgium are Maurice Mosunde, Floor Goemaere, Korneel Pennewaert, Kira, Timo Schroyen and Stanse. In any case, we know that Stanse van Synghel comes from Aalter. She already played in the musical Arthur and the battle for Camelot. And Maurice Mosunde plays basketball at LPD Donza. We could not find anything about the other ZOOV participants.
ZOOV Netherlands
In the Netherlands, in Zonder Ouders on vacation (ZOOV), the choice was made for six young people between the ages of 13 and 15 to go on holiday to a well-known destination without parents for the first time. There they not only get to know each other better, but they also take a crash course in budgeting, cooking and supplementing.
ZOOV cast Netherlands
The cast of ZOOV in the Netherlands is made up of Youp Alblas Alblas, Arwen Hooijmans, Machano, Jayden Matimbor and Séray. What do we know about the ZOOV participants from the Netherlands? Let’s list it:
- Fifteen-year-old Lila Akkerman certainly has a well-known father; this ZOOV participant from The Hague is the daughter of Tim Akkerman. Her ambition? Become famous. In the AD she said: “The new Kim Kardashian; that sounds like something to me.”
- Fourteen-year-old Arwen Hooijmans from Boxtel loves music and musicals. Next year she wants to go to the world jamboree in South Korea with scouting.
- Machano also comes from Brabant; he lives in Vught and, like Arwen, he is also fourteen years old.
- Youp Alblas is fifteen and lives in Borger. He also tells RTV 1 that he has ‘made friends for life’.
- Jayden Matimbor is fourteen years old and comes from Schiedam. Did you know that we are dealing with a house talent here? He is Dutch champion 60 meters sprint (under 16 years old) and dreams of an Olympic career. He trains at Rotterdam Athletics.
- Seray is thirteen years old and comes from Limburg; she lives just about the Belgian kind. Seray has been raised very nicely, is daily with her horse Yara and wants to become a fighter jet pilot.
On vacation without parents
In ZOOV we follow the young people who stay together in a luxury holiday villa for 9 days. There they come across connections that they normally don’t have to think about and sometimes ‘wrestle’ with their thoughts and insecurities: how do I fit in the group and if I get homesick, what then? And normally the parents actually pay for everything during the holiday, but who now manages the wallet and is there enough for eating out, parasailing and new swimwear?
(Independent
The field of tension between healthy dependence on your parents and complete independence is the central theme in ZOOV. What do the youth hope to learn from others and from themselves? By experiencing and experiencing adventures, they learn and maybe find out that they can already do a lot, but perhaps still have a lot to learn…
