No water in 2 areas – Long-hour outage in an area in western Thessaloniki
Two areas of Thessaloniki are currently without water, due to problems that have arisen in the city’s water supply network from EYATH. In particular, a planned and an emergency water cut are currently underway. In detail, according to EYATH:
There is an outage in the area of Pylaia, due to a problem on 2 Posidonos Street which affects all the surrounding streets. According to EYATH, the water supply has been restored at 11:00.
An area in Sykies has also been left without water. This is a planned interruption by EYATH in order to carry out work on the connection of a new pipeline. The outage is in progress from 10:00 and will last a total of 4 hours.
In its announcement, EYATH states:
The Water Supply & Sewerage Company of Thessaloniki announces that on Monday 12/9/2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., work will be carried out to connect the new Φ110 pipeline on Karaiskaki Street 29, in the Municipality of Neapolis – Sykeon. Due to the above works, there will be water supply problems in Karaiskaki Street, from the height of Arapitsa Street to Oikonomou Street, as well as in the adjacent streets, of D.E. Sykeon of the Municipality of Neapolis – Sykeon. The works that will be carried out are considered necessary for the smooth operation of the water supply network and efforts will be made to restore the water supply as quickly as possible and to cause the least inconvenience to consumers.
