long absence for François Cros, package for the Blues tour
RMC SPORT INFO – Toulouse international third line François Cros, released in the victory against Toulon on Sunday evening (28-8), injured his knee again. His absence is estimated at around three months. He will have to undergo surgery soon and will miss the November tour with the Blues.
The success (28-8) against the RCT, Sunday in the Top 14, left its mark in the ranks of Toulouse. It was first Romain Ntamack who was forced to leave Ernest-Wallon’s lawn in the 27th minute of play. As indicated by RMC Sport on Monday, the international number ten will be unavailable between three and five weeks due to a tibiofibular sprain, which affects the right ankle joint. But that’s not all.
About three months away
This Sunday evening, the main concern concerned François Cros. Already injured in the left knee during the Top 14 barrage won against La Rochelle on June 11, the 28-year-old third row with 16 selections is making a comeback this weekend. He had to be replaced in the 58th minute, just three minutes after entering the field. It is a “recurrence”, said assistant coach Clément Poitrenaud at a press conference.
The exams taken this Monday afternoon were unfortunately not really reassuring. According to information from RMC Sport, Cros is suffering from a disinsertion of the internal lateral ligament. It will be activated in the coming days. This is very bad news for him of course but also for his club and the Blues since he should be unavailable for at least three months. Cros will suddenly miss the XV of France tour in November against Australia, South Africa and Japan, now less than a year from the 2023 World Cup.
