Toulouse beats Reims and gives itself some air

This Sunday, during the 7th day of Ligue 1, Toulouse dominated Reims (1-0), thanks to a goal from Aboukhlal, and ended a series of three defeats in a row.
Under the stifling heat of the Stadium, the Violets stopped the bleeding against the Stade de Reims this Sunday afternoon (1-0). However, not everything was easy for the band of Philippe Montanier and this success can be savored at its fair value. Dominant in the first period, Téfécé proved dangerous from the 4th minute through Spierings, including the recovery at close range with Pentz’s gloves. Opposite, the Rémois took advantage of a very uninspired Maxime Dupé on his raises to respond to their opponent thanks to Balogun or Ito, but the former Nantes goalkeeper was also protected by a Rasmus Nicolaisen of the great days. Shortly before the quarter of an hour, Chaïbi distinguished himself as a finisher, first with a header (9th) then with a beautiful volley (24th), before delivering a sublime decisive deep pass for Zakaria Aboukhal, whose cross shot from the left ended in the small right net (1-0, 31st).
A worrying Toulouse feverishness
Upon returning from the locker room, the Rémois were looking for an equalizer, notably through Folarin Balogun, but the player on loan from Arsenal was blocked at the last moment by Nicolaisen (56th). Superior but never serene in defense, the Violets were perfectly helped by the exclusion of Flips on the hour mark for a tackle as the last defender on Aboukhal (61st). At eleven against ten and facing Rémois lacking inspiration, Montanier’s men had the keys to easily win this match but they ruined all their chances to fold the match (Van Den Boomen 63rd, Birmancevic 83rd, Onaiwu 86th) . A final shiver ran through the Stadium when Munetsi took a cross from the right at the far post in the dying seconds but the striker did not cross his shot enough. The final whistle given, Toulouse could be jubilant but it will be necessary to be more serene in the future if they want to accumulate successesespecially against a more effective opponent.
