Company | Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne: the residence Les Châteaux de Provence celebrates the 100th anniversary of Gilberte Guennelon
The team of Sandrine Guerra, director of the Grand Age residence Les Châteaux de Provence, got together to celebrate the 100th birthday of its resident Gilberte Guennelon, born in Avignon to a mother from Saint-Étienne and a father from a village in the Drôme which offered him higher education in Lyon. Training which led her to INRA in Versailles. She will meet Roger, then director of research, and follow him when he is appointed to INRA in Avignon. Throughout her career, like her husband, she rose to the high office of doctor of science and director of research: an exceptional professional.
“It was not easy at that time when the woman was not spared by the obstacles” named us Gilberte, with extraordinary lucidity. Alongside this journey, the couple will have three children: Joëlle, Catherine, Michèle. Gilberte, who lost her husband in 2007, also has 9 grandchildren.
Family dispersed on the national territory and abroad (Germany), only Catherine, her husband and her children were able to be present for this anniversary day: “But all will come in a few days” reassured her daughter. An exceptional moment shared with the residents of the establishment.
