The month of September finally revives with the International Piano Festival at the Jacobins, which signals the resumption of musical life in Toulouse with its 43e editing. It will take place from September 9 to 30, 2022. Catherine d’Argoubet and Paul-Arnaud Péjouanthe two founders of this event, continue their enthusiastic and reasoned action which consists in inviting confirmed international artists and young talents to discover.
A Japanese pianist for the inaugural evening
Friday, September 9, 2022, the inaugural evening will be awarded to the young generation Japanese pianist, Yumeka Nakagawa. New names are appearing among today’s talents. These emerging personalities that we can discover offer new musical visions. Salome Jordan comes from Georgia, Nathalie Milsteinof Russian origin, was born in Lyon. Aline Pibouleor Marie Vermeulin (in a program in partnership with the Palazzetto Bru Zane – French Romantic Music Center) represents the French piano school.
With Bertrand Chamayou, the child of the country
Beneficial confrontation with strong and assertive international personalities will not fail to occur. This will probably be the case with the Irish finhin collinsthe hispanic american Joshua of SolaunFrench Marc-Andre Hamelinthe british Stephen Houghargentinian Nelson Goerner (which will close the Festival) as well as the child of the country, Bertrand Chamayoufor an exceptional recital at La Halle aux Grains, place Dupuy.

Two prestigious elders, great regulars at the Festival, will complete this panorama: the Spaniard Joaquin Achucarronative of Bilbao, and the great German pianist and conductor Christian Zachariewho will also be found as a guest conductor for a concert, at the head of the Orchester national du Capitole during the next season.
Finally, several major jazz figures will host the evenings of the Festival: Paul Lay, Baptiste Trotignon and the Rémi Panossian trio.
The openness and richness of the musical programs intended for the most diverse audiences. With the exception of three evenings hosted at the Metronum, at Altigone (Saint-Orens) and at the Halle aux Grains, the recitals will begin at 8 p.m. and will take place in the mythical setting of the Cloître des Jacobins.
