“The exceptional summer continues”: several heat records already broken in Toulouse in September
The beginning of September was very hot in Toulouse, in line with what the inhabitants have been experiencing for four months. Several heat records have already been broken.
The holidays are over, but the mercury is taking its time to keep pace, at least in Toulouse. This beginning of September sees temperatures still regularly exceed 30°C around the Haute-Garonne prefecture, so much so that many heat records have already been beaten for a month of September, such as the explained the forecaster of Météo France François Jobard this week.
In Toulouse, “new monthly high minimum temperature record with 22.9°C this morning (Monday September 5, editor’s note)”, shared the meteorologist on Twitter, adding that the previous record was 22.7°C. It was dated only a year ago (September 8, 2021). The forecaster also pointed out that the two hottest days in September ever recorded since 1945 by Météo France had been during the days of September 5 and 6, 2022.
?#Toulouse (endless hot weather, continued) In terms of average daily temperatures (taking into account the mini and maxi), the hottest days in September since 1945 in Blagnac are now:
1) 5/09/2022 28.7°C
2) 6/09/2022 27.5°C
3) 09/14/2020 27.2°C— Francois Jobard (@Francois_Jobard) September 6, 2022
“Incredible to think that after an anthological May-June-July-August quadrimester in Toulouse (ahead of 2003, as in many places besides), the first week of September will be positioned in the first position of the hottest in Toulouse-Blagnac…”, commented François Jobard, disillusioned with these record temperatures.

And the forecaster to plan, with fatalism, on the continuation by recalling that the next weekend promises to be still very hot in Toulouse, in particular the days of Sunday and Monday, with “yet another peak of heat to come”.
Yet another heat peak to come Sunday and especially Monday in the SW with many scenarios of the IFS ensemble forecast above 20°C at 850 hPa, this level which was once rare and which has perhaps never been so trivialized than in 2022.
