Monaco does the minimum – ASM-SUPPORTERS.FR
This evening, Monaco moved to the famous “Marakana” in Belgrade to face the Red Star in this group H of theEuropa League. Thanks in particular to its last rampart, Monaco gleans 3 precious points in Serbia.
Minamino can’t do it
Philippe Clément decided to continue with his 3/4/3 system, Vanderson, Maripan, Minamino and Ben Yedder replaced Aguilar, Sarr, Diatta and Embolo respectively.
This first period starts rather positively for the Red & White who, with a high recovery, activates to create danger in the opposing camp. Just after the first quarter of an hour, Wissam Ben Yedder serves Mohamed Camara in the sixteen meters. The Malian midfielder, slightly out of the way, wraps his shot which narrowly misses Borjan’s goal. The sequel is marked by a lot of technical waste and individual errors from the 22 actors. One of them also leads to the biggest opportunity of this first act. On a recovery error from Camara, Bukari is launched in depth and presents himself alone against Nübel; the German goalkeeper wins his duel against the Serbian striker. 0-0, score at the break.
Monaco is doing well
During the second act, the ASM will suffer more attacks from the “Zvezda”. A first full-axis strike, with a floating trajectory, finds Alexander Nübel’s bar. Success for the former Bavarian, then the talent to repel an off-center free kick fired with great mischief by Aleksandar Katai; when Aleksandar stumbles over Alexander. Suffering, Monaco will rely on an error from the Serbian defense to open the scoring. Following a center at the far post from Diatta, Golovin is involuntarily added by Srnic. Penalty for the players of the Rock, transformed by Breel Embolo, everything just came into play. 1-0 in the 73rd minute of play.
At the very end of the match, a final corner for the locals was headed by a player from Etoile Rouge; Nübel performs a new Decisive parry. We leave it there, a small Monaco wins in Belgrade 1-0.
Monaco wins its first points in this group stage. Before the second day which will take place in a week against Ferencvaros, winner of Trabzonspor 3-2, Monaco will host Lyon on Sunday in Ligue 1.
