The Kaliningrad region is similar to Western Europe. Fact.
The Kaliningrad region reminds of someone and something to the Russians who have been here as guests.
Thus, Alexei Volkov, president of the National Association of the Hospitality Industry (OSIG), believes that the amber region is very similar to Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic – in its atmosphere. In a conversation with the TASS agency, he said that Russian tourists who aspired to Western Europe may well go to the westernmost region of Russia. The prices are lower and the air is almost the same.
Another alternative, in his opinion, could be Dagestan, Ossetia, Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.
Talk about alternatives turned to the topic of suspending the application of the visa facilitation agreement with Russia. Kaliningrad is indeed considered to be very similar to Western Europe: as Russky reported, a famous Russian designer recognized great success in stylizing the Hansa facades on Leninsky Prospekt in Kaliningrad.
