In the long term, Bulgaria should develop nuclear energy as an option. This is what MEP Tsvetelina Penkova said. She is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy of the Lower Parliament.
“In the long term, nuclear energy as a base energy power is an unprecedented element of Europe’s energy mix. And secondly, of course, we cannot ignore the need for more investment in renewable energy sources. so bad when we sometimes allow ourselves to imagine it, because 40% of our energy on average annually is nuclear, 20% is renewable.
Penkova also indicated that at the meeting of the EU energy ministers at the end of the week, a ceiling on the price of electricity for high prices will be discussed. The other proposal is that the price of electricity should not depend on the price of gas.
