Toulouse: he recognizes a police officer in civilian clothes, spits on him, threatens him and ends up… in prison
In July, place Wilson in Toulouse, a man recognized a plainclothes policeman having a drink with his companion. Insults, threats, spitting… The incident ended up in the criminal court.
“He insulted me. He wanted us to go to a dark corner, away from the cameras…” Launched, the man no longer stops in front of his judges. In July, he threatened a plainclothes policeman who was taking advantage of the evening to share a drink with his partner on Place Wilson, in the heart of Toulouse.
The defendant, 42, a real electric battery, remains inexhaustible and… confused. “It’s not easy to dialogue with you”, tries President Didier Suc. The man, 30 mentions in the criminal record, does not stop any more. His proven psychiatric pathologies, his money stolen from him by his curator, the policeman who insulted him… A real sketch under amphetamines.
The official taken to task, calmer, recounts the threats, the spitting in the face. “I decided to challenge him; He ran off, threw trash cans at me. I ended up going in. While running, he hit a post…”
“You know him,” worries the president.
“I had to check it once, a week or two before. No more.”
“In the metro. I left,” smiles the man in the box, more excited than provocative.
The expert appointed to examine the defendant confirmed “significant” mental disorders “monitored and treated for several years”. In his eyes, neither abolition nor alteration of “signifiers”, notes the president.
The prosecutor finds nothing funny in the excesses of this man. She is asking for a prison sentence. The defense did try to obtain an adjustment but the court pronounced one year in prison with continued detention. The victim was awarded €1,000 in damages and €800 for his legal costs. “He will have his money,” says the defendant before disappearing into the bowels of the Toulouse courthouse.
