In Florence ‘Cultural Welfare’ for Parkinson’s patients –
Five free for the over 65s to promote the well-being of the community by approaching culture: this is the ‘Cultural Welfare’ project coordinated and initiated by Cr Florence Foundation with Fresco Parkinson Institute and The Imaginary Cultural Association, and the support of the Municipality of Florence, Ausl Toscana Centro, Musei del Bargello.
To improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s, artistic workshops, dance lessons and boxing training will be held, while slow guided tours will be available for neurodiverse people in the exhibition halls of some Florentine museums. “In addition to promoting ‘Cultural Welfare’, – said Gabriele Gori, director of the Cr Firenze Foundation – we will soon be working on ‘Casa Parkinson’, which will soon be inaugurated, making available the necessary resources to cover the staff of the structure”. The ‘Casa Parkinson’ project, promoted by the fresh Parkinson Institute, proposes an all-encompassing and integrated model of care to respond in the most comprehensive way to the multiple needs of people affected by the disease.
“We are fully committed to an elderly-friendly city that undoubtedly also passes through actions like these”, highlighted the municipal councilor for Welfare, Sara Funaro, according to which the Foundation is “a project that consists of many initiatives aimed at the well-being of our elderly, opportunities for socializing and cultural enrichment that can really make a difference in the quality of life of the most vulnerable people “.
