“Hungary is the Texas of Europe”
“How are the Republicans?”
“Great.” We are optimistic about the mid-term elections and then the 2024 presidential election. Now in November, we will win the House of Representatives elections, maybe the Senate elections as well. Joe Biden is a literal disaster, but so is his running mate, Kamala Harris. Even according to the most subtle assessment, we are taking a step back with their leadership. We also discredit ourselves on the international stage, and what goes on at home also leaves something to be desired. For example, inflation has run wild.
“But if Harris is terrible too, that’s good for you, isn’t it?” They don’t have to fear him replacing Biden…
“Well, that’s the least of my fears.”
– What is the problem on the international scene?
– We are deepening the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, we are fighting a proxy war (i.e. our own war, on the external stage – ed.). Who supplies weapons to the Ukrainians? Especially us Germans and Poles. It would be best if we left room for peace negotiations.
– What do you think of Biden’s speech last week, he called Donald Trump dangerous to democracy, and then Trump called him an enemy of the state?
The Democratic Party, which has come under the influence of the extreme left, the woke ideology, pushes everything to extremes. They magnify everything, make a fuss. Politics is the perfect opposite of this: the ability to argue with each other. Seventy million Americans voted for Trump. Now would they be enemies too? This is crazy. I don’t think Biden fully believes what he’s saying.
“Why, puppet?”
“That’s not the best word.” The megaphone of the extreme left.
– What do you expect from the 2024 presidential election?
– Republican victory. If Trump runs, he will win.
– Against who?
– If Biden starts again, he will beat him superiorly. If someone else runs in his place, for example Gavin Newsom from California, it could be closer, but I can name three or four Republicans who could have a shot.
– Do you have a personal favorite?
— Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
– What is your opinion of how Trump’s Republicans discovered Viktor Orbán?
– Orbán’s speech in Dallas was excellent.
He sees very clearly that Hungary is the Texas of Europe, an island on the continent that is built on Christian values. He is aware that family-oriented politics does make sense even if the majority of the European political elite does not follow this direction today.
Take the Child Protection Act. I have three children. I’m almost certain that when I went to school in America, someone in the family would have kicked me out if they talked to me about transsexuality there. Since when is it extreme to act against this? A dwarf minority forces its things on us. The school is for imparting knowledge, not for raising the child for me. It is my right and duty to convey the value system to them. Don’t let a twenty-year-old teaching force impose its own on them!
– Why is Orbán’s opinion important to American Republicans?
– Because he very clearly laid the foundations for a different kind of Europe. I am convinced that he faces so much resistance not because he is extreme, but because what he says is so attractive – and not only to Hungarians. In America, we were also made dizzy by saying, for example, that there are the Scandinavians or the Germans, who are so great, but we, the Republicans, are backward, moving against the grain of history. And here comes someone like Orbán in Europe, who slaps this whole argument in the face, namely in the name of universal Christian and family values that have developed over a thousand years. All existing data support, for example, that the most favorable educational environment is in a two-parent household. No one questioned this until recently. Let’s stop playing hypocritical equality!
