Everything you need to know before the eighth edition of the Riviera Electric Challenge
From September 14 to 15, 2022, the eighth edition of the Riviera Electric Challenge “Cagnes For EVER” will be held. The objective of this event is to complete a course at the wheel of an electric vehicle, using as little energy as possible.
The Riviera Electric Challenge is back soon. Co-organized by the Automobile Club de Nice and AC Ponente Ligure, as well as the Town Hall of Monaco, this eighth edition will depart from Cagnes-sur-Mer, arriving in Monaco.
With no less than fifty cars at the start and three countries crossed during the course (France, Italy, Monaco), the race received for the first time in 2015 once again promises a great show.
An arrival on the Place du Palais Princier
After six arrivals announced as part of EVER Monaco, on the forecourt of the Grimaldi Forum and at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco last year, the 2022 edition will this time see its arrival celebrated on the Place du Palais Princier, where the participants’ cars.
While new thermal engine vehicles will no longer be sold in Europe from 2035, manufacturers have converted to electric vehicles. A new industry, from which come the vehicles of the fifty participants in the Riviera Electric Challenge, a totally carbon-neutral regularity rally.
The Principality, a pioneer in aid for the purchase of electric vehicles
As a reminder, in Monaco, aid for the purchase of electric vehicles was set up in 1994. Today, electric vehicles represent 12% of the registered fleet.
Departing from Cagnes-sur-Mer on Wednesday September 14 in the morning, the race will stop by the Italian town of Dolceacqua, before reaching Monaco the next day for an arrival scheduled for 6 p.m. In total, 240 kilometers will be covered, with a passage through the mythical Col de Turini, used by the competitors of the Rallye Monte-Carlo.
