At what times and on which channels to watch Europa League matches?
The kick-off of the 2022-2023 edition of the Europa League has sounded. Three clubs from the French championship are taking part in the group stage this season: Monaco, Rennes and Nantes.
Who will succeed Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League list? After the draw made in Istanbul (the Turkish city will host the next Champions League final), the first day of the group stage is scheduled for Thursday, September 8. Will Ligue 1 clubs shine this season in this European competition? Last year, Olympique Lyonnais lost in the quarter-finals to West Ham. To inaugurate their new continental campaign, Wissam Ben Yedder and his AS Monaco partners travel to Belgrade (Serbia) against Red Star. For their part, Ludovic Blas and Nantes welcome the Greeks from Olympiakos Le Piraeus to their lawn at La Beaujoire. Finally, Stade Rennais is starting its Europa League campaign in Cyprus. Bruno Genesio’s players take on AEK Larnaca.
The opponents of Monaco, Nantes and Rennes in the Europa League
Defeated in the third preliminary round of the Champions League, AS Monaco players finally participate in the group stage of the Europa League. Resident of group H, the club of the Principality therefore first meet the Red Star of Belgrade before facing the Hungarians of Ferencvaros and the Turks of Trabzonspor. In Group G, FC Nantes, winners of the Coupe de la France, challenge Olympiakos before traveling to Karabakh in Azerbaijan (the longest trip of the six French clubs in European Cups) and being opposed to Friborg , a Bundesliga club. Stade Rennais, which finished in fourth place in the French championship at the end of the last season, is in Group B. After AEK Larnaca, the Bretons won the Turks from Fenerbahçe next week at Roazhon Park before to play against Dynamo Kyiv.
