Adrien Badel, director of Polytech Annecy-Chambéry
The new director of the Polytech Annecy-Chambéry school, Adrien Badel, took up his new duties on 1uhlast September. It aims to “former engineers who will respond to the major societal challenges raised by digital, energy and socio-ecological transitions”.
At 43, Adrien Badel has been teaching automation, electricity and mechatronics at Polytech Annecy-Chambéry for fifteen years. An electrical engineer who graduated from Insa Lyon in 2002, his doctorate in 2005 for his work on vibration control and vibration energy recovery, led to the Insa electrical engineering and ferroelectricity laboratory, in collaboration with the building energy process laboratory (Locie). From 2005 to 2007, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He joined the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB) in 2007, as a lecturer, then professor in 2017. His research activities at the System and Materials for Mechatronics laboratory (Symme) focus in particular on the valorization of micro- ambient energy sources. He joined the management team of Polytech Annecy-Chambéry in 2018, as deputy director in charge of international relations. It contributes in particular to the development of the school’s partnership network, by setting up university exchange agreements or double degrees, as well as by organizing an annual Franco-Japanese summer school on mechatronics. .
Elected for a five-year term, Adrien Badel surrounds himself with four deputy directors and three project managers to carry out his project. The team will focus in particular on promoting the school abroad and maintaining close links with companies, to promote the professional integration of young graduates.
