Rue Dominique Baudis was arrested on Place du Capitole
The name of Dominique Baudis is now installed on the legendary Place de la Ville Rose. On September 3 at 11 a.m., the current mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc unveiled the plaque surrounded by the Baudis family. The street that runs along the Place du Capitole was chosen to bear the name of theformer mayor of Toulouse. His wife Ysabel, his children Pierre, Benjamin and Florence as well as his grandchildren were all reunited, alongside other anonymous Toulouse residents as well as former and current elected officials.

Died of cancer in 2014, at the age of 66, Dominique Baudis had been MP for Haute Garonne then MEP and President of the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Council. He remained at the head of the town hall of Toulouse for 18 years, from 1983 to 2001, the longest period for a mayor of the Pink City. During his mandates, he had initiated many projects, including the installation of the metro line in 1993.
According to Jean-Luc Moudenc, who still has memories of his early career with Dominique Baudis, there was no better location than the famous Capitol Square for “the most emblematic of mayors” that the city has known. Dominique Baudis already has a bust in her name since 2015 in the Henry IV Court of the Capitol. More recently, in 2019, his signature was transcribed on the pediment of theToulouse Blagnac Airport.
