Residents of Brussels residential care centers compete against each other in an exciting race | Brussels
BrusselsThe residential care center Mélopée’ Tuesday, after a successful first edition in 2021, the MelExpress again. The concept is based on the popular TV show Pékin Express. The residents of the residential care centers try to complete an exciting route along the most beautiful parks in Brussels.
During Mel’Express, different teams of situations from different residential care centers embarked on an adventure through Brussels. The competition was all about the many parks that brighten up the Brussels community. For example, the participants include assignments in the Cinquantenaire Park, the Royal Park, the Elisabeth Park and the Château du Grand Bigard. The assignments were very varied: from solving rebuses to orientation assignments and object searches. No challenge was too great for the active men and confidence. The residents with each successful assignment points to come out a winner.
Team spirit
“Of course everyone likes to win, but the Mel’Express is mainly meant to have fun and to exercise the team spirit of the participants. We see it mainly as a nice way for residents to go outside the residence and get into the capital. Besides the activity also fits perfectly within our framework, we want to stimulate the spatial and temporal orientation and the possibilities for different thinking and doing assignments”, says Félix Simon of residential care center Mélopée in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean.
