“Muscular” arrest in Bois Joli: “I wanted to get away from my children who were crying and they started hitting me”, testifies Kévin
This Monday, September 5, it is in the turmoil that Kevin wakes up. Victim of a “muscular arrest” the day before, he comes out with a swollen face and limbs. He returns to this “police violence”.
While he found himself in the presence of his children, his sister and his parents, Kevin P. was arrested by the National Police. A scene described as extremely violent by the family.
In trying to defend her big brother, Gwendoline, 16, explains that she was assaulted by one of the police: “I tried to defend myself, there were several of them on him. But one of them pushed me violently against the wall twice.” Kevin’s mother, also a witness to the scene, denounces, according to her, an abuse of power: “They abuse people. They arrived without papers, with nothing, surrounded him and beat him.”
“They told me he was going to pick me up, without giving me a reason, even though I asked for it. I went away to phone my girlfriend to let her know I was in custody. That’s when they surrounded me. I wanted to get even further away from my crying children and they started hitting me.”says Kevin.
Now Kevin is not denouncing the reasons for the arrest, but rather the form and tone of the words. He will file a complaint today.
