It’s heavy and still beautiful on Toulouse and Occitania Monday, September 5, 2022. But that could go bad quickly. The town hall of Toulouse has anticipated by closing the parks and gardens of the Pink City due to the gusts of wind announced.
Like last Friday
It is not a stormy front that is emerging for Monday evening but the formation isolated thunderstorms can be intense.
In short, what happened north of Toulouse on Friday September 2 when a storm broke out near Castelginest bringing its share of wind and hail. A localized storm which then shifted towards the northeast of the Haute-Garonne department, then the Tarn, tearing off many tree branches on a Castelginest-Lavaur axis.
Locally powerful thunderstorms
Keraunos, the observatory of tornadoes and violent thunderstorms, warns:
“During the afternoon, the storms multiplied from the Pyrenees to the northern regions. From the Toulouse region to the Aude, a few potentially powerful thunderstorms will be possible at the end of the afternoon and in the evening, with a risk of hail in particular, as well as isolated vortex phenomena, ”he indicates.
Inside these storms, the wind could gust above 80 km/h.
It’s hard to predict where the storms are hitting. Toulouse is part of the sector affected by the risk. Nevertheless, the risks are higher in Gers, Tarn-et-Garonne, Tarn and Aveyron.
In Haute-Garonne, the first storms could break out in Comminges around 8 p.m.
With hail, heavy rain and gusts of wind
Facebook page Tarn weather summarizes the situation well:
“At the end of the afternoon and evening, a risk of locally violent thunderstorms with hail, heavy rain and gusts of wind. The problem is that it is not an organized degradation, so these storms develop randomly. Not possible to be more precise on their location. Some may receive a deluge and others may remain dry”.

This Monday, all the departments of Occitania, except Aude, are placed on yellow vigilance for thunderstorms.
