After four years of work, the new AS Monaco performance center has definitely come out of the ground. The club presented Monday its new setting, remarkable for modernity in order to further accelerate the development of the club.
As often in Monaco, we put the small dishes in the big ones. Monday was to present the new training center, more precisely the performance center as the ASM calls it. Work began four years ago and the site, orchestrated by Russian President Dmitri Rybolovlev, cost more than 50 million euros. To pay Prince Albert II, guest n°1 of this grand inauguration“a new page in the history of the club is opening”: “It’s a strong signal. Congratulations to all for the success of this project which will allow our club to continue to progress and aim for the heights “I am convinced that AS Monaco, through its performance, will give us all a lot of emotions. I would also like to salute all the teams who participated in the construction of this magnificent complex.”
Beyond the local leader, Didier Deschamps, Claude Puel and even Charles Leclerc – the day after his Dutch Grand Prix – were on site. The Russian president, the only notable absentee for “health concerns” (according to L’Equipe), also evokes from a distance “a very important and historic moment”: “This is a major project, as difficult as it is ambitious, which allows ASM players to train in optimal conditions. This new complex meets the highest requirements in the sporting, technical, medical and other fields.” The ASM boss has been leading the club for ten years now and explains himself by “pride and a great responsibility”, always with the objective of “shining on the European scene”, while the Monegasques unfortunately failed for the second season in a row in the preliminary round of the Champions League.
