Tire strategy: How much does Pirelli earn for the Dutch Grand Prix?
What is the best tire strategy for today? What can we expect from Max Verstappen and how will Ferrari put pressure on him? Pirelli has published what will be the fastest strategies for today. We even take that meet your doorstep.
Tire manufacturer Pirelli is always making trades with enabling strategies. These cards give an overview of the fastest options in terms of tires and pit stops in normal conditions. Of course something can always happen during a race and so any yellow flag and/or safety car can throw the whole strategy upside down. Pirelli expects the race to be a two-stop. The fastest option is to ride soft-medium-medium, although that makes little difference to soft-medium-soft.
Wear and tear on Zandvoort
Zandvoort is known as a circuit that almost eats tires. Very high wear, especially at the start of the race. This is because the car is still a piece due to the full fuel tank. A two-stop with a soft time of two-stop medium makes little difference in terms of terms. Although the moment arises you on which tire is naturally good for the course of the race. However, this is extremely difficult to predict. If the tire degradation, against expectations, is low, then a one-stop is also in it.
Ferrari on other strategies
Verstappen starts on pole with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in second and third place behind him. This gives Ferrari the opportunity to challenge Verstappen with different attack methods. The drivers are expected to start on different tires and thus overtake Verstappen with a minimum of one car when he goes in for his first pit stop.
