The Greens offer themselves to Monaco!
After a first success acquired in Valence (2-3) last weekend, Patrick Moreau’s players confirmed this Sunday on the Georges-Bereta lawn. The young Greens quickly put themselves in the best possible conditions. From the start of the match, Enzo Mayilla crosses strong in front of the cage but no one is present to resume. The Monegasques, in turn, attempt incursions into the opposing camp, returning the debates to a rather balanced one. The Stéphanois try their luck several times. On a corner, Kévin Pedro’s attempt goes over, then in the 33rd, Enzo Mayilla serves Prince N’Geleka but the Greens striker misses the target. A few minutes later, Enzo Mayilla, the slender No. 9 of the Greens, confirms the good intentions of the first half by logically opening the score (ASSE 1-0 Monaco, 37th).
The Monegasques do not want to stop there and even force Gabin Sabathié to make a double intervention just before the break allowing his team to keep the advantage.
Despite a brisk recovery carried away by Quentin Prud’homme very close to driving the point home, the Greens suffered a little more in the second period but remained united until the last minute.
Patrick Moreau: “We are quite satisfied with the first half. In the second half, we had more difficulty in having movement. We lost a lot of balls and did not always make the right choices. We will continue to work… players teamed up and defended their goal in advance. We could have done better in the second half to create more chances. We also fell against a very good Monegasque team.”
