It is a real curiosity in both winter and summer.
1h30 from Toulousein the territory of Caylus (Tarn and Garonne)a surprising waterfall necessary to forge its legend in the true sense of the term.
it’s about the petrifying waterfall from Saint-Pierre-de-Livron, to Caylus, which is located in the Bonnette valley.
A natural curiosity
This waterfall is a real natural curiosity “located on a very small stream barely a kilometer long in its aerial part, directly out of the eponymous cave, in the circus of Notre-Dame-de-Livron”, indicates the Tarn-et-Garonne Tourist Office which continues:
“The waters of this waterfall being very rich in carbonates, the tuff is deposited on the mosses and the pieces of wood in the form of a crust. The disappearance of these plant debris by fermentation gives, in part, to the rock its porous texture reminiscent of that of the sponge”.
She’s dry in this summer
In this summer of 2022 of drought, the waterfall is dry offering another aspect even more surprising than in winter.
Impressive flow in winter
It will be necessary to wait until this winter for this waterfall, which is one of the most photographed in Occitania, to regain its full flow, which can even be impressive at times.
