Musterhauspark GmbH in insolvency
40 creditors and banks as well as 18 employees are affected. But the operation should continue, say representatives of the show home park.
Model house parks in Haid and Graz are also affected
In addition to the model house park in Eugendorf, the insolvency also involves those in Haid (Upper Austria) and Graz. These are also before this change of ownership. According to the Creditreform Association, Musterhauspark GmbH, based in Eugendorf, has applied to the Salzburg Regional Court for the opening of restructuring proceedings without self-administration.
According to experts, its three locations in Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria are very important for the entire industry. Around half of all sales of prefabricated houses were processed there. That is why the consortium is also in talks with creditors and banks. According to the bankruptcy application, they are offered a quota of 20 percent.
Nothing should change for the customers. The prefabricated house manufacturers and companies represented in the show house park are continuing their business as normal, emphasizes the show house park representative.
Seven manufacturers want to take over Parks
The liabilities of the previous operating company therefore amount to EUR 9.4 million. Almost at the same time, Freitag informed seven prefabricated house manufacturers that they want to take over the three parks together.
According to Creditreform, 18 employees are affected by the bankruptcy. Creditors are promised a quota of 20 percent within two years. The reason given for the bankruptcy was that the need for model houses had decreased because of “individualization”. Another reason given was the insolvency of the subsidiary Scalahaus with liabilities of over EUR 13.1 million, in which Musterhauspark GmbH held 54.6 percent.
Modernization of all locations planned
At the same time, the prefabricated house manufacturers Elk, Genböck, Griffner, Haas Haus, Hartl Haus, Vario Bau and Wolf Haus – according to their own statements the seven largest companies in the sector in Austria – announced that they wanted to take over three locations. The aim is to develop the parks into “Europe’s most modern model house parks” and thus become the central meeting place for interested parties for all aspects of construction.
Other more customer-friendly opening times, new offers as well as events and specialist events were promised. Negotiations with the insolvent company and the banks are already well advanced.
