Eighty foreign students from Toulouse took French lessons in the mountains
Each year, the Department of Teaching French as a Foreign Language at the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaurès organizes the Summer University: a program to discover French language and culture with 84 hours of lessons and socio-cultural workshops. cultural.
This year, a new formula has been put in place: the pink city and mountain programme.
It is within this framework that the municipality of Aspet received these students first in July and then at the end of August. In July, 53 foreign students participated in this program. Their origins are diverse: Japan, Yemen, United States, Germany, Ethiopia, Iran, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Tanzania, Georgia, Syria, Mongolia, China, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Ghana, Pakistan, Iraq, Somalia. In August, there are 34 Ukrainian, Scottish, Irish, Kazakh, Haitian, Peruvian, Algerian, Mexican, Italian, Chinese and American students.
The students were on full board at the “Bois perché”; French lessons took place every morning and during the afternoons, the students participated in other activities: walks, discovery of the flora, art and nature workshops, games, farm, visits, meetings with artists, etc As part of the “Aspet s’exposent” festival, the students were able to discover the photographs on the theme of dance by Laurent Gambarelli exhibited in the windows of Aspet as well as the exhibition of the Ateliers du Temps Libre. It is a very enriching intercultural experience in immersion, in this magnificent and natural setting of the central Pyrenees in Comminges. The town hall of Aspet organized a welcome drink on market day. This moment was greatly appreciated by the students and the teaching team.
