UEFA sanctions PSG, OM and Monaco
The European body punished eight clubs on Friday, including these three residents of Ligue 1, for non-compliance with the rules in force in terms of finance.
PSG, OM and AS Monaco fined. UEFA unveils itself this Friday, in a communicated, a salvo of sanctions for the clubs guilty of having breached the rules on financial fair play. In this case, the first chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), dismissed by Sunil Gulati, punishes eight teams who have “did not meet the break-even requirement“, the three L1 clubs mentioned above, but also AC Milan, AS Rome, Inter, Juventus (Italy) and Besiktas (Turkey). The eight offenders agreed to pay a total of €26 million. An amount that could rise to €172 million. The clubs concerned have three or four years to get into the nails and avoid the painful, that is to say pay all the fines. Sanctions could also be sporting, up to exclusion. In detail, Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco are housed in the same boat: 2 M €, including 1.7 suspended. For PSG, it’s something else: the club of the capital is the most heavily sanctioned of the eight, with 65 M €, including 55 suspended. AS Roma (35 M€, including 30 suspended), Inter (26, including 22 suspended) and Juventus (23, including 19.5 suspended) are far behind in terms of amount.
