The day before, on the small road to La Turbie overlooking the principality – the same one she had taken twenty-seven years earlier with Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Hand at the Collar – she lost control of her Rover 3500S in which took her daughter, Princess Stephanie, who was seriously injured. An impossible mourning
An inconsolable widower, the sovereign could not hide his grief during the funeral which took place the following Saturday at Notre-Dame-Immaculate Cathedral in Monaco. At his side, Caroline holds him by the arm, while Albert faces and goes through these dark hours with a courage and dignity that inspires admiration.
