“no pressure” for Clément before Nice – Sport.fr
During a press conference this Friday, Philippe Clément spoke about the AS Monaco transfer window and the particularly disappointing start to the season for his men.
Are you satisfied with the transfer window?
“I am an easy trainer. I am always satisfied because we speak with the leaders. You know you never get 100% of what you thought you would get at the start of a transfer window, but we have a lot of players with talent and the desire to grow here and improve. I am someone who likes to work with ambitious people and all the players who have come are quality players. »
Where should Monaco be after your big game against Paris (1-1) and the disappointment against Troyes (2-4)?
“In the same place as Monday the day after the match against Paris. There is no big difference. We have talked enough about the circumstances of the defeat against Troyes (Monaco played a whole half with ten). Now another match awaits us against Nice. I am convinced that with the team we have we can have a great season, up to our ambitions. »
You are already eight points behind on the podium…
“For me, it’s always more honest to take stock at the end of the first leg, when everyone has played against everyone. We knew that our schedule, for the first days, was the most difficult of all the teams in the Championship. We cannot make a balance sheet after five games. »
So you don’t show any particular pressure?
“No. Just as we couldn’t be safe if we had been first after five rounds. Because there are 33 games left to play. Of course it gives confidence to take points, but the players must be aware of their qualities and have confidence in themselves, without just looking at the latest results. Locker rooms who watch the results too much are those who experience ups and downs because they live too much in emotion. You have to be constant, in your emotions and in the results.
