Caen loses the derby and gives the lead to Amiens
Thanks to its victory snatched from the Unicorn against Grenoble (1-0), thanks to a penalty from Arokodare in the second half (69th), Amiens is the new leader of Ligue 2 after seven days. Only Bordeaux, in the event of success on Saturday at Paris FC, can hope to overtake the Picards on goal difference (+2 for Amiens, +7 for the Girondins and their only small but conceded). This rewards the series of six games without defeat for the players of Philippe Hinschberger, in vain since their defeat on the first day in Metz (1-0).
But to acquire this good access, it was necessary to count on the first setback of the season of the Caennais, which happened during the derby on the lawn of Le Havre (2-1). The locals are doing well, launched by a penalty which should not have been whistled at the start of the match because the fault was outside the area. “The referee makes the right decision, but his assistant judges him, explains Romain Thomas (on Prime Video). The former Angevin does not seek to take refuge behind this fact of the game: “We made too many mistakes, me the first, to hope for something else. The season is long, but we wanted to win. We weren’t put in too much trouble, so it sucks.”
Sochaux, easy winner of Laval (4-1) after having conceded the opener – but then reinforced with a numerical superiority from the first period -, also took the opportunity to move into second place, ahead of Le Havre which also takes third place. Dijon also misses the boat, conceding its second defeat in a row to Bastia (1-0) which recovers after the slap suffered in Saint-Etienne. Not much better for Metz, annexed at home by Annecy (0-0). Finally, remember that Guingamp – Rodez was reported because of a problem with the plane for the visitors, which caught fire shortly after takeoff, which obviously required an emergency U-turn.
