The Wolves attacked their ICEHL league rivals in their home Intercable Arena like firefighters: David Glira in the 6th minute and Ivan Deluca in the 11th minute put the home side in front early on. After almost 16 minutes, Olivier Archambault curled the disc into the goal from a tight angle to make it 3-0. Innsbruck’s few chances in the 1st period were all destroyed by a safe Jake Smith, which made it 3-0 at the break.
In the second period there was a lack of concentration, especially in the defensive work of the wolves, the sharks found their way back into the game. After Jan Lattner managed to make it 1:3 at the end of a power play after around 26 minutes, the guests from North Tyrol scored twice within a minute at the end of the second period.
In the final section, it was the home side who played the game in front of around 870 spectators. Morten Jensen put the Wolves ahead again in a 4v4 situation after 5 minutes of play in the 3rd period. Aaron Luchuk finally made the preliminary decision in the 56th minute: After a foul on him, he himself converted the penalty kick to make it 5:3.
The next test match for the HCP is already on the program for next Saturday. Then the wolves compete with the “Conrdia University” from Canada. Game starts at 7:45 p.m.
