It became the haunt many motorists.
At the intersection of Route de Rouen and Rue des Prés in Saint-Marcel (Eure), them traffic lights have been malfunctioning and flashing since early summer.
This road, which leads to Gaillon (Eure), sees many vehicles pass and at rush hour, difficult to clear a path.
“Arriving from Vernon, I have priority, but I am systematically cut off, it’s very dangerous,” says a resident.
And on the spot, hard to see otherwise : with the large flow of cars circulating on the road to Rouen, motorists arriving from rue des Prés or who want to turn to reach the Intermarché sometimes have to force their way through.
Six weeks lead time
The repair is planned, but we will have to wait.
Indeed, after multiple repairs carried out “to pull through”, the municipality found that it was an electrical problem that prevented the signaling from working. “It turns out that the equipment has become obsolete and that we cannot find a part for this type of fire. »
Defective electronic boards are too old to be hurt, it is therefore the complete installation of the light that must be changed. Estimates are in progress and an order form will be made.
Other repairs in the municipality
As the city’s signaling fleet is aging, other lights will benefit from the order and will be replaced.
“We have facilities that are still in operation, but as they are old, we are anticipating to avoid being again dependent on this six-week delay. »
The traffic lights on rue Georges-Hermand, on route de Chambray and at the intersection of rue Jules-Ferry and rue des Prés are concerned.
