Mercato: “I’m not marabouted”, when Toulouse announces a recruit with a clear reference to the Pogba affair
The day after its defeat against PSG, Toulouse formalized this Thursday the arrival of Greek midfielder Theocharis Tsingaras from PAOK Salonika. The announcement of the transfer was made with a joke about the news of the Pogba affair and the rumors around the use of a marabout against Kylian Mbappé. In a video posted on social networks, the Greek declares his first words there under the colors of the Violets: “No worries, I am not marabouted”. A funny reference to the news of the week and to the Pogba affair, suspected of having contacted a marabout to cast a spell on Kylian Mbappé.
In this short video, we see an employee of the Toulouse club worrying about seeing the Greek miss all his juggles during his presentation. Once the voodoo doll bearing the image of the player has been removed, Theocharis Tsingaras instantly regains all his qualities with the ball at his feet. The reference is clear.
Specifically, the 22-year-old Greek midfielder joins France from PAOK Salonika on a loan with an option to buy. “I am very happy to be here, I dreamed of coming to Ligue 1, it’s a big step in my career, welcomed the player in a press release. I want to prove to myself that I can play in the first division here and help my team achieve their goals. After strikers Zakaria Aboukhlal and Thijs Dallinga, goalkeeper Kjetil Haug and defender Oliver Zanden, the Greek leaves his training club for the first time in his career after playing in the Europa League. Last season, he notably participated in the PAOK epic until the quarter-finals of the C4 where OM beat the Greeks.
