Jesse Blacker: “I’m trying to learn Russian, but I’m getting accelerated. I understand some hockey terms, swear words” – Ice Hockey
Jessie Blacker answered a question about the need to understand the Russian language.
– Legionnaires are reluctant to go to Russia in the offseason. Did you hesitate when deciding whether to return to the team or not?
– Not. Everyone makes their own decisions and takes their own ideas.
It’s hard for me to judge other people’s choices. I can’t say anything bad about them. Everyone makes a choice. We discussed the situation with the family and decided to return to Russia.
– Did relatives and friends ask about Russia? Do you need to dispel stereotypes about life in our country?
– Of course, many stereotypes and rumors about life in Russia.
I have been playing in the KHL for many years, I have come a long way. At home, I talk about my experiences, explain how the situation is developing for me.
– Darren Dietz surprised everyone in Russian, read the poems of Alexander Pushkin. How are you with Russian?
– I’m working on it. It’s hard to learn Russian. I’m trying, but I’m shocked.
– Do you understand Russian?
– I understand hockey terms, some curses. When talking slowly, I understand part of the words, trying to think out the meaning and meaning of the sentence, but only partially.
“Should a legionnaire get into the tradition at all, learn the language in order to understand the phrases used?
– I don’t think I should.
In any case, knowledge of the language will help to communicate with the participants, to better understand the trainers. The legionnaire himself will be better off from this – it will be easier to join the team, – said the Avtomobilist defender.
