Ice hockey: Salzburg wins against Stavanger at the start of the CHL – winter sports

The win2day ICE Hockey League champions, EC Red Bull Salzburg, beat the Stavanger Oilers 3-2 (0-0, 1-0, 1-2; 1-0 ) after extension.
Florian Baltram scored the decisive goal in extra time in the 63rd minute for the Bulls’ deserved victory.
Troy Bourke gave Salzburg the lead in the 34th minute after a remarkable but goalless exchange of blows. Bryce Gervais equalized at the beginning of the final third (44th) for the Oilers, which came somewhat unexpectedly in view of the home team’s superior shooting statistics up to that point.
Salzburg shows breath
But Peter Schneider restored Salzburg’s lead in the 47th minute, it was his second point after the assist to make it 1-0. Barely two minutes later, Paul Bittner equalized again for the guests. The 2:2 lasts until the end of regular time before the locals are allowed to celebrate.
On Friday, Villacher SV is a guest of the Swedish champion Färjestad Karlstad in the opening match in group F. Salzburg are now second in Group E with two points behind Freiburg-Götter, who defeated Ilves Tampere 3-2 in the parallel game. Salzburg’s next opponent is Tampere, back at home on Saturday.
