Toulouse: why will the Cité de l’Espace close for several days in September?
The Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse will close for two periods in order to make improvements.
The Cité de l’espace has scheduled two periods of closure in September and October for maintenance. A complete closure is planned from Monday 5 to Friday 9 September inclusive, the Cité de l’Espace will exceptionally close its doors for 5 days.
A partial closure is also planned from September 1 to October 6 inclusive, the two Imax® and planetarium performance halls will be inaccessible. From Friday, October 7, the Cité de l’Espace will resume all its activities and shows.
During these maintenance periods, the Cité de l’espace invites visitors to discover or rediscover its offer, including: the temporary exhibition Currently on the ISS which honors the European astronauts present in the International Space Station (ISS) and presents the daily life of astronauts and the teams working with them from Earth, the immersive animation “The Rovers enter the scene!” on the all-new Martian Terrain, which invites the public to meet the Martian robots currently exploring the planet Mars, the Moon, Episode 2 exhibition raises public awareness of the lunar environment and the current challenges to be met in order to allow an installation human life on the celestial body and finally the new area dedicated to the James Webb space telescope invites young and old to settle down comfortably to admire the images of our cosmos and understand in particular the differences between this new telescope and the Hubble telescope.
