Russian Windows: similar Microsoft programs appeared on sale at the price of the original
The M.Video-Eldorado retail chain began selling Russian software – covering the Red OS system and the R7-Office office suite. Kommersant experts believe that Russians will not buy domestic software because of its unstable operation and high cost.
The Russian “Red OS” is based on Linux. There are two versions on sale – for ordinary users it costs 3,500 rubles and for server hardware. The latter costs 9,500 rubles. A set of office programs for working with text, tables and presentations will cost 3,500. True, the action is valid for only one year and for one user. A set of tools for high prices.
It is noteworthy that the more promoted and well-established OfficeSuite package from MobiSystems is cheaper – 1,999 rubles per year for 1 PC. The company also has more expensive offers, including perpetual ones. Buying a package forever will cost less than 7,000 rubles. At the same time, such an office works on all devices and operating systems – from iPhones to Macbooks and computers. Microsoft products are now found, but possible. Some marketplaces sell an indefinite prison for an office for 6,000 rubles or a little more.
Market pundits doubt that comparable Microsoft products hold large market shares. Licensed software is still bought only by business representatives, while Russian Russians will download pirated programs. In addition, the vast majority of devices are not assimilated under Linux. Consequently, there are many problems with connecting printers, gadgets, Wi-Fi routers and other aggregates, computing resources.
After the American company Microsoft announced that it was curtailing its business in Russia and stopped selling its programs, the state power structure urgently came to switch from Windows to the Russian Astra Linux. Tenders for the purchase and installation of operating systems worth several billion rubles were found on the public procurement website.
