Jazz and Cuban comeback for the Nougaro room in Toulouse
It is the Cuban Irina Gonzalez who will launch the 2022-2023 season at the Nougaro hall in Toulouse, followed by jazz, electro, flamenco artists, etc.
To start this season, the singer Irina González in a quartet will invest the Nougaro room for a week of work in residence. His new album “Tiempo”, evokes the music of his native country, Cuba, with jazz accents and Brazilian rhythms. See you on Friday September 30 to discover his new project on stage.
We will find the New Yorkers of Moon Hooch on Friday, October 7, after numerous reports due to the health situation. Two saxophones and drums for a wild mix of jazz, house, dubstep and hip-hop, throwing on stage a furious sound!
On Wednesday October 12, the British Portico Quartet will take over the venue. The jazz ensemble with electro influences will present its latest opus “Monument”. This album, with electronic inspiration, revives the band in its most direct form with a percussive and rhythmic minimalist sound (as part of the Jazz sur son 31 festival).
Then, the Nougaro room will receive, on Friday October 14, the crooner Bazbaz in duet with the beatmaker Manudigital, better known in the world of reggae. It is virtually that their collaboration begins, to create a common disc, mixing dub and French song, very real: “#LoveBordel”.
Toulouse’s Kiko Ruiz will take us into his brand new creation on Wednesday October 19th. With these three musicians, on violin, double bass and percussion, the group takes us on a crossroads of different musical currents: classical jazz, oriental music, flamenco… Everything recommends a good place for singing.
On October 21, a fascinating evening in perspective with multi-instrumentalist singer Bachar Mar-Khalifé. His 5th album “On/Off”, composed in the mountains of his native Lebanon, mixes classical music, electronic jazz and oriental tradition.
