Uncertainty about Zandvoort trains during Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend in the Netherlands
This week the staff of the Dutch Railways is on strike, for example no trains today (Tuesday). It is still unknown if there will be strikes in the coming days. If there are strikes, this could have consequences for the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort.
“We can’t say yet what will happen later in the week,” a spokeswoman for FNV Spoor told the Telegraph. “We can’t say much about the weekend either.” It is therefore not possible to say with certainty that there will not be a strike next weekend.
no signal
“It’s up to the unions in the end, but let me put it this way: I don’t have any images that point in the right direction,” said Oscar van Elferen about whether or not to stake out during the Dutch Grand Prix. “But we monitor the situation, listen carefully to the news and are in contact with the parties involved.”
Special timetable
110,000 fans are expected at Circuit Zandvoort per day, so 330,000 visitors in total. earlier this month, the NS know that there will be a special timetable for the Formula 1 event. The intention is that on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8:00 and 22:00 twelve trains per hour will run from Amsterdam Central and Zandvoort aan Zee station to bring a maximum of 10,000 fans per hour to the circuit.
