The Interceltic Festival of Lorient 2022
Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie, French record holder Ninon Chapelle and American star Chris Nilsen will all be in Toulouse on the weekend of September 16 and 17 for the second edition of the Toulouse Capitole Perche.
This event will bring together the crème de la crème of the discipline. Renaud Lavillenie, the former world record holder in the discipline will be present.
” I love this kind of outdoor event, being closer to the public is great. It’s the best way to end the season (…) and then you don’t always have the opportunity to jump in a setting as magical as the Place du Capitole »
Last year, the French champion was unable to jump in Toulouse due to an injury and the terrible weather conditions (heavy rain) in 2021 led to the cancellation of the elite event. This year, the organizers are confident with a very nice line-up in prospect.
The women’s field will be well stocked this year with the best tricolors including Messina Ninon Chapelle who achieved the best French jump with 4.75 meters.
On the men’s side, in addition to Renaud Lavillenie, we can count on his brother Valentin or the very promising Anthony Ammirati, world champion and European junior champion. Only missing, the Swedish Armand Duplant is the world record holder in the discipline with 6.21 meters.
I am a young dad and this is the first time I will jump in front of my son. That’s why I’m going to give everything and why not, break my record for him
And it’s promised, the big names don’t come to do extras. It’s an international competition and as such they will give the best, as we explain in the Valentin Lavillenie video:
