Rue Lafayette 9 rue lafayette, 31000 Toulouse Capitole / Arnaud Bernard / Carmes Toulouse 31000 Haute-Garonne Occitanie
http://toulouseartdeco.fr A simple path at the foot of the rampart during Antiquity and the High Middle Ages, the street was formed from the development of the town of Saint-Sernin in the 12th century. In the 19th century, the proliferation of urban planning works – development of the place du Président-Thomas-Woodrow-Wilson, opening of the rue d’Alsace-Lorraine, reconfiguration of the Capitole and creation of the square du Capitole – restored its attractiveness, and the street is lined with department stores. Made pedestrian in 2013, it remains one of the busiest shopping streets in the city.
