More people on the roads, businesses reopening, the weather getting a little grayer… No doubt, it’s back to school! This month of September 2022 will arrive its share of subjects and novelties which will not fail to make talk to Rouen. We take a (non-exhaustive) point on these topics that make the news this fall.
Extension of the ZFE
This is probably the subject that has caused (and will continue to cause) ink to flow. The extension of the ZFE-m prohibiting Crit’air 4 and 5 vehicles of circulars in 13 communes of the Rouen metropolis arouse questions and anger. This measure is officially effective on 1uh September but a pedagogical period is planned until March 2023.
New on the network Tip
Concomitantly with the extension of the ZFE, the Rouen bus and tram network strengthens with new lines, course changes, accentuated frequencies… In short, it’s a new Tip network that is being deployed with the aim of offering better service and an alternative to private cars.
Safety, a daily concern
Thefts, assaults, violence… Security is a recurring subject of concern inhabitants. The mayor, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, are calling for more national police officers. Some arrived in August and others should follow to reach 664 operational staff in the constituency.
For its part, the municipality strengthen video surveillance and new cameras are to be installed by the end of the year.
The subject of security could be invited at the next city council, on September 26.
The Mamoudou Barry Murder Trial
For three days, beginning September 14, the alleged killer of Mamoudou Barry will be judged by the Criminal Court of Rouen. In 2019, the Franco-Guinean academic was fatally attacked in Canteleuarousing great emotion.
The trial, eagerly awaited by Mamoudou Barry’s entourage, should in particular make it possible to address the issue of criminal responsibility of the presumed murderer, suffering from psychiatric disorders.
Reopening of the Omnia
Finally, will say the Rouen cinephiles. Omnia, art house cinema de Rouen, is due to reopen on September 6, to the delight of lovers of demanding programming open to all audiences. They will be able to discover with pleasure the new hall and cafeteria.
A Caravaggio exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts
We will have to wait until October 28 to find out. An exhibition dedicated to Caravaggio is planned for the Museum of Fine Arts in Rouen. This last account The Flagellation of Christ at the Column in his collection. The painting will be in the spotlight of this exhibition which will produce a dozen works on the same theme.
The show season
The season also resumes in concert halls. At 106on September 22, we will be able to find Yann Tiersen.
Side Zenithwe attack the 17 and 18 with the show Naturya. Will follow the rapper CHS (September 24) and the cine-concerts of Big Blue (September 28) and dedicated to Hans Zimmer (September 29).
Side shows, for humor, Jonathan Lambert presents its new show at West Theater September 3 and 4.
For the theatre, CDN de Normandie will officially present its season on September 23.
Rouen Opera will make its comeback on September 22 by presenting Rigoletto by Verdi.
But also…
Other topics were to be in the news in September. We can cite for example the continuation of the soap opera Happy Gardens. Will the promoter Sedelka and the City find common ground for the former Sainte-Marie home?
On the media side, Normans will be able to discover BFM Normandie, which takes the place of La Chaîne Normande. The continuous news channel continues its development in the region by offering local news throughout Normandy.
They will surely not fail to cover the rich local sports news: the QRM in Ligue 2, the FCR in National 2, the Dragons for hockey, the Huskies for baseball…
The start of the new school year promises to be very rich in Rouen!
