Whoosh analyzes trends in the use of electric scooters in Lisbon
After one in Lisbon operations, the newcomer micromobility brand Whoosh some data regarding the use of your electric scooters.
In the first 30 days, 170 thousand kilometers were covered, which is equivalent to 55 trips between Lisbon and Porto. Dividing that figure by the 2,000 Whoosh scooters, that means they each did about 2.8 km a day.
Data on Whoosh users shows that around 80% of those who use the company’s electric scooters do so in their daily routines and not as a way of walking.
The vast majority of users are young adults and active workers – 57% are in the age group between 25 and 44 years. Soon after, those who use the most are young people between 18 and 24 years old (25%) and only then people over 45 years old (18%).
In Portugal and with Whoosh scooters, it seems that the gender disparity in this mode of transport, with 79% of users being men.
Whoosh also stands out that 40% of users opted to subscribe to the serviceand a large part of this group chose the monthly pass.
Whoosh electric scooters arrived in Lisbon in late July and, according to the company, are distinguished by having maximum speed of 25 km/hbeing that there are zones where the maximum speed is automatically activated to 20 km/h.
In addition, a Whoosh has virtual parking lots to ensure that scooters do not get in the way of vehicles on roads or people on sidewalks.
