Toulouse: the prefecture gives 72 hours to remove anti-vaccination posters
The Haute-Garonne prefecture issued an order on Saturday August 27 making it illegal to distribute anti-vaccination posters in Toulouse. Reacting to criticism, the prefecture gave those responsible for these posters 72 hours to remove them.
The prefecture raises its tone. While since August 15, a dozen anti-vaccination posters against Covid-19 have flourished in Toulouse, the Haute-Garonne prefecture has issued an order this Saturday August 27 to prohibit the deployment of this “campaign display” which carries “false information about vaccination”.
“The decree prohibits this campaign and requires the advertiser, the association “Réinfocovid”, and the poster designer, the company “Luchetta paint and screen printing”, to proceed with the withdrawal of these posters within 72 hours. from the notification of the decree which has been made to date”, announces the prefecture of Haute-Garonne via a press release.
Supposed side effects of vaccines
Placarded by several antivax collectives, this poster campaign denounces the supposed side effects of vaccines against Covid-19.
“1 cardiovascular accident for 100 injections: the health of our children is better than experimental vaccines”, can we read in particular on one of the advertising panels invested by the self-proclaimed Independent Scientific Council as well as the Réinfo Covid collectives and Freedom reinfo.
This initiative had also provoked controversy and provoked many indignant reactions.
The town hall of Toulouse had initially indicated that it could not intervene legally, since the subjects concerned belonged to a private company. Even if they are on the public domain, these posters cannot be removed by the town hall, unless they cause a disturbance to public order.
